Project background

  • Project goal: Her Future, Her Choice (HFHC) project is a Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project funded by the Government of Canada through Oxfam Canada. HFHC is a direct intervention to advance SRHR in Malawi, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Zambia and Canada. WE-Action has been implementing this project in Amhara Region, Waghimra zone, Sekota town and Sekota zuria woredas

Project objectives

  • Increased claiming of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and quality services by adolescent girls and young women in targeted dis-tricts through strengthening their economic capacity and livelihood diversification.

Budget

  • Total 55,202,76.79

Project basic Achievements

  • 79 Community influencers from the targeted kebeles, and they were trained on women’s rights/SRHR..
  • 20 (CAG) At the community level, the project was established and supported 20 community action groups (CAG) in each target kebele.
  • More than 20 GBV survivors have been tracked and referral services facilitated with the woreda women and social affair office.
  • 304 SHGs were established and supported in the project areas.
